Our Favourite Local Dog Parks

Posted on: February 25, 2019

Sure, your backyard is perfect for a quick game of catch, but nothing beats letting your dog off the leash at the local dog park! Dog parks increase your dog’s social skills, allow them to burn off excess energy, and live an all-around healthy lifestyle. Take a look at some of the best parks in Central Florida for you and your four-legged friend!

Barber Dog Park
From long stretches of grass to agility training stations, your dog won’t run out of things to do at Barber Dog Park. As an off-leash park, it offers separate areas for different size dogs to ensure safe interactions and owner comfort. It even includes shallow pools for those hot summer days.

Lake Eola Park
Lake Eola, the not-so-hidden gem of downtown Orlando, is a great place to take your dog exploring. A long trail wraps around the swan-filled lake, and while it’s not off-leash, there are plenty of pup-friendly places for you to enjoy together. Dog-friendly restaurants along the lake provide a meal with a view and will give your pet something to drink and nibble on.

Lincoln Avenue Community Park & Pool
With three gated areas for small, medium, and large dogs, you can rest assured that your pet won’t be overwhelmed by other canines in the area. Dogs aren’t the only ones having fun here; this 35-acre community park offers a variety of fun activities for owners to enjoy. Have a match on the tennis court, go for a swim in the pool, or try your hand at disc golf.

Lake Baldwin Park
Lake Baldwin Park is a go-to spot for dog lovers. It covers over 23 acres of Lake Baldwin and boasts a sandy shoreline, which your dog can enjoy off-leash from 8 am to sunset!  Splash around in the water with your pup, start a game of fetch, or get to know fellow park goers.

Park of the Americas
Your four-legged friend isn’t the only one who will love this park. Not only are there size-specific, fenced-in areas for off-leash fun, there are also outdoor workout stations, shaded pavilions, picnic tables, and grills. If you have little ones who love to come to the dog park with you, this is an excellent choice! The Park of the Americas also has a “tot lot” with swings, climbers, and activities designed for 2-5 year-olds.

Whether it’s playing fetch, taking a dip in the lake, or making a new doggy best friend, Orlando has a variety of parks to choose from.
